Major Turn: August 2012 Jupiter-Mars Opposition Square Neptune

Almost a year ago we noted here that the stock market rally from March 2009 is driven primarily by the Jupiter-Mars cycle.

We saw here that the 3/7/09 low was caused by a heliocentric Jupiter-Mars conjunction at 72°, 144° from a Saturn-Earth conjunction at 72° opposing Uranus.

3/7/2009: Heliocentric Harmonics
The 4/26/10 peak was caused by a Jupiter-Mars opposition squaring Ceres on the 19th that was not triggered until both Mars and Venus reached 72° on the 24th (a Saturday). Notice also that Venus is opposite Pluto squaring Saturn.

4/24/2010: Heliocentric Harmonics

At this point, Mars has traced 2 points on the pentagram and Jupiter has moved 36°.

The 2011 triple peak was caused by a heliocentric Jupiter-Mars conjunction at 72° opposing Saturn and 144° from Earth at 72°. This occurred near the middle peak in May. The May 1 (Sunday) geocentric 72° Jupiter-Mars-Moon triple conjunction was the trigger for the May 2 peak.

5/1/2011: Geocentric Harmonics

5/19/2011: Heliocentric Harmonics
Here 3 points of the pentagram have been traced by Mars and Jupiter has moved another 36°.

Nasdaq Futures

Next month Heliocentric Mars will move into Jupiter opposition on August 17, squaring Neptune. This should correspond to a major event for the markets.

8/17/2012: Jupiter-Mars Opposition Square Neptune

The event may be triggered early by Mars crossing the 72° harmonic on August 12. Mars harmonics tend to be accurate to +/- 1 day. Ceres reaches 36° opposite Mars also on the 12th, and there is also a geocentric Mars 36° cycle the same day so there is a high probability for a major turn on this day or the next as the Moon may provide the trigger as it conjuncts Geocentric Venus at 72° on the 13th. Geocentric Mars conjuncts Saturn near 36° 2 days later on the 15th, another potential trigger.

8/12/2012: Heliocentric Harmonics
At this opposition Mars will have traced 4 of the 5 pentagram points.

8/13/2012: Geocentric Harmonics

The Earth joins Neptune on the 24th at 18° squaring Jupiter and Mars. This is the same date noted here as a possible disaster. The following day Venus hits 72°, 144° from Mars' 8/12 harmonic. Venus is the fastest moving planet, so it acts as the second hand of a clock. Therefore, if August 12-13 does not trigger a major turn August 25 is highly likely to result in a major market event. It is certainly possible that the 12-13th and the 25th both produce important turns (for example a double bottom).

8/25/2012: Heliocentric Harmonics
The Jupiter-Ceres conjunction near 36° occurs on August 31 which also may provide a turn.

The next Jupiter-Mars conjunction will be August 17, 2013, completing Mar's trip covering all 5 points of the pentagram. However, before this we will be looking for a major market turn in May 2013, Cowan's Beast Cycle.

Plasma, Cave Drawings and Auroras

I'm going to go way off track here to tell you about something I hope you will find very interesting. I believe something important is unfolding but there is a lot of information to tie together so this is just the first part, and I will write more later.

First I have to talk about plasma. Our world consists almost completely of solids, liquids and gases. However, 99% of the universe is plasma. Plasma is the 4th state of matter.  The transition from gas to plasma occurs through ionization of the gas particles.

Source: Wikipedia

It is the Earth's magnetic field that insulates our atmosphere, separating the inhospitable plasma environment of interplanetary space from our own home.

Earth's Magnetic Field (Source)

The magnetic field's protection is weakest at the North and South Poles, and occasionally allows plasma to leak into our atmosphere resulting in the beautiful Northern and Southern Lights, or auroras.

Lightning and solar flares are other examples of plasma.

Cave Drawings

Anthony Peratt is a plasma physicist working at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In his paper Characteristics for the Occurrence of a High-Current, Z-Pinch Aurora as Recorded in Antiquity [IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, Vol. 31, No. 6, Dec 2003], Peratt notes similarities among cave drawings from all over the world. For example, Figure 14:

The drawings in Peratt's study are believed to have been made between 10,000 to 2000BC. Given the disparity of locations, the resemblance of the drawings is itself remarkable, but even more importantly, Peratt recognized these shapes from his own laboratory work on plasma.

There are many examples like this. Here is another:

Peratt explains that such phenomena could only have occurred within the Earth's atmosphere if the solar wind had increased by one or two orders of magnitude.

Nuremberg, Germany UFO Battle

Such sightings are not limited to antiquity. On April 14, 1561, the citizens of Nuremberg, Germany, woke up to what they described as a UFO battle over their city. Bright shapes in the sky appeared to be battling each other. The event was recorded by Hans Glaser on a woodcut.

Could this have been a leaking of plasma into the atmosphere due to a strong solar flare? The long tubes for example look like Peratt's plasma column experiments, with possible corresponding petroglyphs shown below.

Weakening Magnetic Field

Scientific studies show that the Earth's protective magnetic shield is weakening. According to Wikipedia, "At present, the overall geomagnetic field is becoming weaker; the present strong deterioration corresponds to a 10–15% decline over the last 150 years and has accelerated in the past several years; geomagnetic intensity has declined almost continuously from a maximum 35% above the modern value achieved approximately 2,000 years ago." [Emphasis added.]

Is this trend leading to something important?

Recently much of the Northern Hemisphere has been treated to some amazing auroral shows. These should increase as the 11-year solar cycle reaches maximum next year, producing even stronger solar storms.

Last week's tragic massacre in Colorado draws our attention once again to the Aurora. In terms of symbology, is this an important signal?

There is much more to this story but I will leave it here for now.

Neptune-Venus Conjunction

I am very behind in my work here and am working on a few things. But I wanted to get this out quickly because we have seen that conjunctions with Neptune are often important for silver.

On 7/23 heliocentric Venus will conjunct Neptune near silver's 72° (gold's 36°). This occurs very late in the day.

August 24 Disaster?

It has been a while since we have looked at disaster prediction. There are a few potential disaster dates coming up, but one that stands out is in August.

On August 17 there is square that comes into completion. Neptune opposes the Sun squared the Moon's nodes. The Moon (new Moon) is conjunct the Sun. The initial completion of a square sometimes triggers a quake or other disaster, so this may help to alleviate some of the stress. On the 24th, the square is more perfect, and the Moon has moved on to conjunct the North node.
8/24/12: Geocentric Stress
Also on the 24th, the heliocentric orientation reveals additional tension as the Earth conjunct Neptune squares Jupiter and Mars.
8/24/12: Heliocentric Stress
We have seen that disasters may be caused either by geocentric or heliocentric stress on the Earth. The combination of both makes this day particularly vulnerable to a disaster.

Pattern Inversion

Some time ago I discovered that many bull run patterns can be inverted, giving roughly the same shape. I have used this many times to get a general projection for well-behaved instruments, such as the DOW. But I have forgotten about this "technique" until just today, when I was looking at gold, and it popped out at me.

Gold Futures
Imagine that you could pivot this image about the point right at about mid-2010. Then you can see that the red circled areas are inversions of each other, and the same with the yellow circled areas. The yellow circled areas even have the same "shelf", holding a stable upper bound through 2008-2009, corresponding to a stable lower bound in 2011-2012. Bumps 3-2-1/1-2-3 correspond in the yellow circles.

Extrapolating then, if this pattern continues to hold, we should see gold taking off very soon since all 3 bumps are now complete.

This "technique" is not recommended for price estimation, just the direction of movement and very rough time scales.

Cowan uses pattern inversion, but in a different way - he compares one segment of the market with a different flipped (mirrored - not pivoted) segment. Other than that, I have never seen anything like this done. Have you?

7/13: Uranus Turns Retrograde

On 7/13, Uranus will turn retrograde near gold's 72°/silver's 36° harmonic. This is also near Nasdaq's 18°.
7/13/12 Uranus Turns Retrograde Near Gold 72° Harmonic
At this point I should point out something that one of my anonymous readers recently reminded me of. We use the same pentagram for heliocentric and geocentric analysis. We know this is correct for the Nasdaq because Cowan does the same thing, and it works for our analysis of past turns and has been a good predictor. Cotton seems to follow the same rule.

However, it may not necessarily true that the same pentagram should be applied to both orientations for all instruments. It may have been a coincidence that the same pentagram applies for the Nasdaq and cotton. My silver and gold pentagram analysis was made before I knew that geocentric analysis was important, so I have not done an extensive analysis of geocentric turns using gold or silver's heliocentric or geocentrically-derived pentagrams. This is time consuming work and I have been traveling now for about a month.

To be clear, the gold/silver heliocentric pentagrams seem fine, especially silver which we have been testing for several months - it is only the geocentric pentagram that is in question.

I am back home now but with company for a couple more weeks. I hope to get some time to work on this soon. I know the timing for PMs right now is very important.

Saturn/Jupiter 36° Cycles

Mid-July has some important harmonics:

7/10/12: G Jupiter-Ceres Conj Near 36°
7/10/12 Saturn S&P 60°
7/10/12: Venus 72°
7/12/12: G Saturn 36°
7/17/12: Jupiter 36°

The geocentric Jupiter-Ceres conjunction on the 10th is 5° from the 36° harmonic, which may be too far to have an effect. I have not done any studies on how close a conjunction needs to be to a harmonic. There is also a heliocentric Venus 72° cycle on the 10th.

On the 12th there is a geocentric Saturn 36° cycle.

7/12/12: Geocentric Saturn 36°
We are still testing the use of inner planets to improve timing. If Saturn 36° is its own event, it may be triggered by the Moon 144° away at 36° on the 14th, or perhaps not until the Moon reaches the next 72° harmonic on the 17th - which coincides with Jupiter's heliocentric 36°:

7/17/12: Heliocentric Jupiter 36°

Next month Mars will reach 72° opposite Jupiter and Ceres, and square Neptune, which should trigger a major event.

We don't talk much about 60° harmonics but Cowan has found that the S&P's 60° harmonics of Saturn is a reliable turn indicator. (See here and here.) Cowan counts from the June 9, 1988 Uranus-Saturn conjunction, at 28 Sag 55'40". Saturn will reach 60° from this point on July 10. (If instead we use the S&P natal pentagram, the point would be 29 Sag 25'26", giving Saturn 60° on July 25.)

This time I have not forgotten to mention oil. Nasdaq's 36° cycles are crude's 72° cycles so these harmonics should be even more important to crude than to the Nasdaq.

Timing Window Experiment - What Did We Learn?

We used the geocentric Ceres 36° cycle as an experiment to test the use of closer objects to improve the timing of the turn. What did we learn? A lot!

The Nasdaq made a high the day of the New Moon on the 19th. This makes sense since the New Moon is the combination of the 2 objects closest to Earth, it occurred at 72°, the most important harmonic, and was very close in time to the geocentric Ceres 36° cycle on the 21st. It then made a double top on the 20th, just exceeding the high from the 19th. Why the top came on the 20th and not the 19th I can't explain. But the Dow and S&P did both top on the 19th.

Then we had another reversal on the 28th, the very last day of our timing window, and the day the Moon joined Saturn at 36°. Saturn had turned direct on the 25th. So it seems clear by now that planet reversals from direct to retrograde and vice versa are indeed important when near a harmonic, and that the Moon (or inner objects) can be used to improve market timing. Cowan briefly discusses the use of inner planets (and even the rotation of the Earth) for shorter timescales but we haven't made much use of it until now. I want to again encourage readers to read Cowan's book. I have read it several times by now, and every time I find something very important that I had missed before or forgotten about, or just haven't had time yet to study.

Crude Oil

I did not mention crude oil in the previous post. I should have! Nasdaq's 36° cycles are crude's 72° cycles, which made this turn window more important for oil than for the Nasdaq. A bottom was made on the 22nd, followed by a lower double bottom on the 28th. So while the New Moon at Nasdaq's 72° made an important top for the Nasdaq, it was only at 36° for crude at that time and it wasn't until the Moon reached 72° for crude on the 22nd that the Ceres 72° cycle was triggered as the first bottom. Saturn turning direct near crude's 72° was the more important event and triggered on the 28th, the day the Moon joined Saturn.

Mid-July has Jupiter and Saturn harmonics which should be important for both equities and oil. More on that later.

Looking further, there is a Jupiter-Mars opposition squaring Neptune coming up in August, first mentioned here. This should be a major event.
