February 4: Major Turn

Jupiter turned direct on January 30 giving a high for the S&P, but it was reversed on January 31 with a Mars 72° cycle.

This rally is likely to come to an end when Ceres turns direct on February 4 near the S&P's 36° harmonic, forming a Great Triangle with Uranus and Saturn. Great Triangles are major events, and the Ceres directional change paired with this one adds to the importance.

This should also be a major turn date for metals. The same Golden Triangle applies as it is close to silver's 36° harmonic (and gold's 72°), and in addition there is a Neptune-Mars conjunction at silver's 72° (gold's 36°). We pay special attention to Neptune conjunctions, which have proven to be important to the metals.

Addendum:
I'm getting a lot of requests for trading help. This is not that kind of blog. However, I see a nice low risk set up forming on the Nasdaq, so if we do get a top on Monday this might be useful for timing your trades and setting your stops.
Nasdaq Futures
This is an Elliot Wave 4 correction on the rally since November 16, which should then be followed by Wave 5 up.

  1. Thanks, platy, so kind. So if we see a top from today to 5th +-, we have a correction. Correct ?

    1. Yes I would think so, but keep in mind that these tops have been rolling and choppy so it could take days or weeks before a substantial drop.

    2. Hi Apanalis, I need to correct what I said here. We are approaching the top of Elliot Wave 3 of the rally since Nov 16, so we are not ready for a major top yet.

      Delete
    3. This is an EW interpretation, platy? Is possible to see a major top here-a fter a drop- and see new highs in june for example? Or not?

      Apanalis

    4. Just a rough outline: I'm thinking we might continue to see some volatility here on the S&P for a couple more days, and then a drop into the end of the week, then a rebound to new highs - around early March or so. Then a larger correction, and another rebound to even higher highs.

    5. Thanks, platy, I do not contemplate new higs in the sp500 nor Dow, for a while, in any case in the end of march or in spring-summer time, and this is not my main count, as you know, but i must adjust the circumstancies.

    3. Hi Alexi, let's see how things go but there is a Nasdaq Jupiter 18° harmonic on Feb 8, a Mars 36° cycle on the 10th, and a full Moon 72° square the Moon's nodes on the 10th, so Friday (8th) or Monday (11th) is looking good for the next turn (gap fill).

These blogs are here to help expand your knowledge and skills as a trader. Its just another part of your arsenal and hopefully it helps but if it doesn't well you must have learned something new at the very least.

  12. Geez where do these morons keep coming from. this blog is about looking at dates of various planetary alignments and discussing its potential of affecting trends of various investment tools. not trading. If you suck at trading, well good luck cuz you're never gonna get better. btw, trading isn't gambling if you know what to do.

  13. By the way, the moon enters Sagittarius tomorrow morning. As I've stated before, moon in sag tends to move markets one way in a big way as Jupiter rules Sagittarius. So if 4th is a turning point, watch out below but if we head higher, it'll be a massive bear squeeze

Love your works! They are very interesting. You think gold will go up after those turn date and then go down again? Platinum and Palladium are going up crazy. Gold is really not going anywhere. Something fishy going on.

    2. Thanks alexi :)

It is not clear what gold and silver will do. I like to see them moving either up or down into a turn date but they are just moving sideways. So it seems there will probably be a breakout in one direction or the other but I couldn't tell you which. My bias is certainly bearish.

    1. Hi Steve, I'm not sure whether I will update them or not. I am getting complaints that the watchlists are confusing, and I don't want to confuse people. I also am aware of at least one subscription site that comes here for information and charges people for it, so I want to reduce that as much as possible. I have to think about it.

I think anyone playing this market on the long side will get burned thinking they have enough time and warning to get out. Just like that spike up in the start of the new year the push down might be much severe.

    1. Apanalis,

I don't have a specific / definite time frame top other than we have a range and a top to form this year. That said the EW form is and will always keep forming and suggests that its near. EW is hard to read if you don't know the basics. These are patterns and structures and gives a general idea not a absolute fact. BASED on EW this ABC pattern is or should end soon.

      Delete
    2. Hi MP,

What version of EW do you use? Pretcher's?

      Thanks!
      m8z

      Delete
    3. I'm using Caldaro's count.

      Delete
    4. Hi Platy,

Caldaro's EW version like many other versions of EW are different from the original Ralph's EW.

look at wave 1 from jun and nov 2012, both are wrong, this is just the tip of the iceberg

ps:hope you received my email :)

      m8z

      Delete
    5. I don't use either counts, but if I have to say whos its closest to I would say Prechter's. There are some counts I disagree with when it comes to his counts but with EW its ever changing and you wont know until hindsight. Some or most EWrs do not let the pattern form long enough and start getting ahead of themselves. Some are happy just adding XYZs all the way up or all the way down. 21 different patterns is not very good odds than a buy or sell odds. But picking the best patterns out of those 21 to play increases the odds.

      Delete
    6. Great discussion here, thanks everyone!

      Delete
    7. Caldaro, Prechter and so on (...) I know their counts long before 2000 and always the same, generally their best counts are after the facts, not before, never before

      Delete
    8. MP,

Pretcher's version has a poor track record, in the best case scenario. RNE could predict the time when a correction would end or a top etc. None of these new versions of EW can do that!

MP, I saw you count oct4-28 2011 as an impulse, its not an impulse.

    1. Sure, I'll repeat here what I said to Alexi above in the comments:

Hi Alexi, let's see how things go but there is a Nasdaq Jupiter 18° harmonic on Feb 8, a Mars 36° cycle on the 10th, and a full Moon 72° square the Moon's nodes on the 10th, so Friday (8th) or Monday (11th) is looking good for the next turn (gap fill).

  30. Platy, any chance the Jupiter aspect on Feb. 8 turns out to be a high (at least on the Nasdaq) and we go down from there? There's a lot of geo Saturnine stuff coming up in the next two weeks.

    Thanks for sharing your insights!
